Assessment

A full assessment involves a thorough discussion regarding your child's medical, developmental and communication history as well as an observation of their communication during play. This session will include an assessment of their cranial nerves/oral anatomy, oral-motor and sensory skills, and informal assessment of their auditory comprehension and expressive language (both verbal and non verbal).
Full assessments take up to one hour and conclude with an initial analysis of the findings. Recommendations will be provided for the next steps which may be a personalised programme, onward referral or one on one treatment.
Assessments can be completed in person at your home or via zoom.
Treatment
$147.00 NZD
Treatment sessions are completed in your home and last approximately 45 minutes. These are completed as part of a block of between 8-12 weekly or fortnightly sessions. Activities will be provided to continue to work on as part of a family between treatment sessions. Treatment targets are determined based on the assessment results and your family goals. More than one block of treatment may be required following a period of time to consolidate the skills targeted.
Preschool Screening

If you are a teacher/educator in the BOP region and have concerns about one or more of the children in your centre please get in touch to arrange a free screening day. We can come on site to screen the speech and language skills and make any recommendations. Parental consent is required for this service.
